Notice for the Application for a Letter of Accreditation

Dear applicant,

　　A Letter of Accreditation is needed for UK education institutions to cooperate with Chinese education institutions or agents. As the Education Section of Consulate General of P. R. China in Manchester, we are responsible for issuing the Letter of Accreditation for certain UK education institutions within the Manchester consular district. Please read the following carefully before you submit your Application form.

AIM:

　　We render this service for the education institutions in the United Kingdom for the purpose of providing the local education authorities in the People's Republic of China with the certification that the education institution accredited by the Education Section of Consulate General of P. R. China in Manchester is a bona fide one, and is legitimate and qualified to seek opportunities of promotion and development in the educational market in China.

ELIGIBILITY:

　　UK Education Institutions Within The Manchester Consular District

　　DOCUMENTATION AND OTHER MATERIALS REQUIRED:

　　1) A brochure or prospectus providing introduction to the education institution to be accredited

　　2) A copy of a formal agreement or a statement of intention with a partner or agent (It must be registered and based in China.)

　　3) Application Form (You can download it from the website or request one from the Education Section of Consulate General of P. R. China in Manchester)

TERM OF VALIDITY:

　　The term of validity will remain for three years commencing from the issuing date of the Letter of Accreditation. The validity can be terminated within the period if the education institution/organization is discovered through our inspection to have failed to meet the criteria of accreditation.

PROCEDURE OF APPLICATION:

　　You need to submit the necessary documentation and other materials (mentioned above) and send them to the address below:

　　The application processing normally takes approximately twenty working days (except Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays). However, it may take longer if more time is needed for a further inspection.

　　Once the application processing is completed, the Letter of Accreditation will be sent to the applicant by post.

PLEASE NOTE:

　　1) Application processing will not be undertaken until all the documentation and other relevant materials have been submitted.

　　2) Two original Letters of Accreditation is produced for each education institution/organization to be accredited.

　　3) The Letter of Accreditation is addressed to the local education authority (i.e. provincial or municipal education committee) in China where the partner or agent is located, rather than to the name of the partner or agent.

　　4) We retain the right not to issue the Letter of Accreditation or to withdraw the issued Letter of Accreditation from the applicant if any of the following situations occurs:

　　a. failure in submitting the relevant documentation and materials required;

　　b. having defect(s) in providing adequate education conditions for the students.
